Cheswold Police charge suspect in Shore Stop Robbery, second suspect identified

bailey-268x300On 12/04/13 Cheswold Police charged Lytia Bailey, 27 yr old B/F of Chestertown, MD in connection with armed robbery that occurred at the Valero Shore Stop located on Main Street in Cheswold, DE on Nov. 26th @ 3:43 am.

 

On that date a black male, now identified as Brian Maurice Daniels, 41 yr old B/M from Chestertown, MD entered the Valero Shore Stop and pointed a gun at the clerk demanding money before leaving with cash and cartons of Newport Cigarettes.

 

Police in conjunction with Delaware State Police Major Crimes Unit and Dover PD were able to identify suspects in the incidents.

 

On 12/4/13 Cheswold PD was notified that a female suspect was in custody at Troop 3 in relation to similar incidents in Kent County. A review of the surveillance tape showed that the female, Ms. Bailey, was also involved in the Cheswold robbery.

 

Allegedly, Ms. Bailey drove Mr. Daniels to the Shore Stop in her vehicle and entered the store to make a purchase. During that time Mr. Daniels waited in the car to check out the store and see who and how many people were working in the store prior to committing the robbery. Ms. Bailey parked her vehicle in a vacant lot on the corner of Rt. 13 and Main Street while Mr. Daniels entered the Shore Stop to commit the robbery.

 

Daniels-240x300Ms. Bailey was charged with Robbery 1st Degree and Conspiracy Second Degree, she was processed and arraigned on those charges and ordered held on $52,000 cash bail. Ms. Bailey was transported to Baylor Women’s Correctional Institute in New Castle for holding.
