Drugs found in Speeding Vehicle – Oct. 30, 2013
On 10/30/13 Cpl. Louis Simms was conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Main Street and Moorton Rd in the Town Of Cheswold when his radar clocked a vehicle travelling 39 MPH in a 25 MPH Speed Zone. Cpl. Simms stopped the 2001 Chevy Malibu being operated by Kenyal Stevenson., 19 yr old, B/M of Dover, DE. While speaking with Mr. Stevenson the officer detected a strong odor of what appeared to be marijuana emitting from the vehicle. After questioning Mr. Stevenson regarding the odor, the operator admitted that he was in possession of marijuana and that it was located under the passenger seat of his vehicle. The officer retrieved the alleged marijuana from its location and performed a further search of the vehicle locating a metal grinder and a digital scale which were confiscated by the officer.
