Cheswold Police Department /DEA Sponsoring National Take Back Day Sept. 27, 2014

NATIONAL TAKE BACK INITIATIVE IX September 27, 2014 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM On Saturday, September  27, 2014, from 10am to 2pm, DEA will coordinate a collaborative effort with state and local law enforcement agencies focused on removing potentially dangerous controlled substances from our nation’s medicine cabinets.  A National Take-Back day will provide a unified opportunity for the public to surrender expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications to law enforcement officers for destruction.  This one-day effort will bring national focus to the issue of pharmaceutical controlled substance abuse.  The program also provides an opportunity for law enforcement, prevention, treatment and the business community to collaborate and establish a safe collection site for all Americans, regardless of where they reside. Cheswold Police Department sponsoring DEA National Drug Take Back Day April 26th

Cheswold, DE– On April 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Cheswold Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public its eighth opportunity in three years to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.  Bring your pills for disposal to [site] at [address].  (The DEA cannot accept liquids or needles or sharps, only pills or patches.)  The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.   Last October, Americans turned in 324 tons (over 647,000 pounds) of prescription drugs at over 4,114 sites operated by the DEA and its thousands of state and local law enforcement partners.  When those results are combined with what was collected in its seven previous Take Back events, DEA and its partners have taken in over 3.4 million pounds—more than 1,700 tons—of pills. Cheswold Police 1st National Take Back Day a Success

On Saturday, October 26 from 10am till 2pm the Cheswold Police Department in conjunction with the DEA held its 1st National Take Back Day in the Town of Cheswold. This first initiative was a big success with a steady stream of traffic all day leading to a total of 107.7 lbs of prescription and non prescription drugs being turned in at the Police Deparment druing that time. We would like to thank all of those people who took advantage of the day and look forward to hosting this program again in the future.

Cheswold Police Participating in National Drug Take Back Day Oct. 26, 2013

CHESWOLD POLICE TAKING BACK UNWANTED PRESCRIPTION DRUGS OCTOBER 26 AT CHESWOLD POLICE DEPARTMENT   Cheswold, DE– On October 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Cheswold Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public its seventh opportunity in three years to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.  Bring your medications for disposal to Cheswold Police Department at 691 Main Street (next to the Shore Stop).  The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.   Last April, Americans turned in 371 tons (over 742,000 pounds) of prescription drugs at over 5,800 sites operated by the DEA and its thousands of state and local law enforcement partners.  In its six previous Take Back events, DEA and its partners took in over 2.8 million pounds—more than 1,400 tons—of pills.
