Date Posted: Wednesday, May 8th, 2019We would like to thank our citizens who participated in our first Cheswold Clean Up Day. We are very pleased with the outcome, and look forward to making this an annual event. There were many who took the opportunity to clean out unwanted items from their homes. We would also like to thank RPJ for donating the dumpsters to the Town for the day. If you were unable to participate in Clean Up Day, or still have items that need to be disposed of, please check the schedule at any of the local DSWA Facilities. They accept different items throughout the week. They also have shredding events, if you have documents that need to be properly disposed. Date Posted: Monday, April 1st, 2019We are excited to announce the first Cheswold Clean Up Day, scheduled for Saturday, April 27th from 7am – 1 pm. We encourage our residents to take this opportunity and clean our yards and houses of any trash and unwanted items that may have collected throughout the year. A dumpster will be provided for use by Cheswold Residents only. April 27th is also the Cheswold Police Department’s drug take back day, from 10am – 2pm, so please bring any old prescriptions to the Town Hall as well. We are accepting donations of supplies or Walmart gift cards. If you would like to donate, you can reach us through Facebook or by phone at (302)734-6991. UPDATE: Thanks to the generosity of the New Castle’s Most Wanted Auto Club, we have book bags and basic supplies available for children in need. Cheswold Police Collecting for Needy Families this Christmas

From Monday, November 28th through Tuesday, December 20th the Cheswold Police Department and Town Hall will be collectiong unwrapped toys and non-perishable food items at the Cheswold Police Department and Town Hall from 8:30am until 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. New Delaware Animal Services to Launch January 1, 2016
Date Posted: Wednesday, December 30th, 2015For the information of our residents and business owners: The State of Delaware has initiated a new service for Animal Services in the State of Delaware beginning Jan 1, 2016. The DAS will receive calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from Delaware residents wishing to report stray or injured animals, animal cruelty, or rabies exposures. Our in-house dispatch service operates between 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on weekends and holidays. After-hours calls are received by our call service, which will dispatch emergency calls to on-call officers. Delaware Animal Services will respond to calls for assistance with stray or aggressive dogs, seriously injured/ill or endangered cats, and stray livestock. We also provide assistance to other law enforcement agencies when necessary, facilitate dog licensing, and investigate all reports of animal cruelty. CPD has New Speed Trailer provided by Kent County Levy Court and Delaware CJC Grant Funds
Date Posted: Tuesday, August 18th, 2015On Aug 13 the Cheswold Police Department received their Smart 650 Speed Trailer and Traffic Data Recorder from Kustom Signals. The trailer was purchased by Chief Workman through grant funds received from the Delaware Criminal Justice Council and Kent County Levy Court. Chief Workman expressed his gratitude to Kent County Levy Court and CJC for the grants which provided the funds for this project. Without these funds the Town could not have purchased this equipment. The Chief… felt that the traffic problems within the Town placed much of the towns children at risk as a lot of residences border two highly travelled roadways in Main St (Rt 42) and Commerce St in the Town of Cheswold.
