Second Suspect Arrested in 11/26 Shore Stop Robbery

Vontaye Gilbert of Chestertown, MD was arrested on 12/19/13 by Dover PD on outstanding warrants by 5 agencies for armed robberies in Kent County during the months of November and December.  Mr. Gilbert was arraigned on his warrant for the 11/29 early morning robbery of the Shore Stop located at 761 Main St when he allegedly entered the store at approx. 0343 hours after waiting in the lot adjacent to the building with co-conspirator Lytia Bailey (already in custody at WCI) and pointed a gun at the clerk demanding money before fleeing with money and cartons of Newport cigarettes. After a intensive investigation by DSP, MSP and Dover PD the suspects were identified and arrested. Mr. Gilbert was arraigned and ordered held on $60,000 bail for the charges placed on him by the Cheswold Police Department and was transported to Vaughn Correctional for holding.

Cheswold Police charge suspect in Shore Stop Robbery, second suspect identified

Town of Cheswold Police Department Official News Release On 12/04/13 Cheswold Police charged Lytia Bailey, 27 yr old B/F of Chestertown, MD in connection with armed robbery that occurred at the Valero Shore Stop located on Main Street in Cheswold, DE on Nov. 26th @ 3:43 am.   On that date a black male, now identified as Brian Maurice Daniels, 41 yr old B/M from Chestertown, MD entered the Valero Shore Stop and pointed a gun at the clerk demanding money before leaving with cash and cartons of Newport Cigarettes.   Police in conjunction with Delaware State Police Major Crimes Unit and Dover PD were able to identify suspects in the incidents.   On 12/4/13 Cheswold PD was notified that a female suspect was in custody at Troop 3 in relation to similar incidents in Kent County.
