Burglary at Laundromat in Cheswold

On 5/2/13 at 0030 hrs. the three (3) suspects entered Kwons Laundromat on Main Street in Cheswold, DE and removed the receptacles from ten (10) machines after failing to remove the change machine from the wall. Possible Burglary Attempt in Parkers Run
Date Posted: Tuesday, March 3rd, 2015On 4/29/13 Officers were dispatched for a report of a possible burglary attempt on Parkers Drive int he Parkers Run Development located off of Main Street in in the Town of Cheswold. The resident noticed that the lock on the rear sliding door was damaged and called police. The resident stated that at approx 1pm in the afternoon she was on the second floor of her residence and heard her dog barking but never went downstairs to check on her home. She noticed later in the evening that the lock was broken on the rear sliding doors of home. No entry was gained int o the residence and the homeowner is taking steps to secure her residence and officers will be stepping up patrols in the area and stopping suspicious persons in the area. Second Arrest in 5 Months leads to More Drug Charges
Date Posted: Tuesday, March 3rd, 2015On 4/24/13 at approx. 5pm, Cpl. Louis Simms of the Cheswold Police Department made a traffic stop on a 1991 Jeep Cherokee for a traffic violation. When the vehicle came to a stop the driver, Raymon Stoker, 47 yr old w/m from Dover, DE exited the vehicle and approached the officer’s patrol vehicle. After speaking with the operator, who was arrested by Cpl. Simms in Dec. 2012 when he was charged with Traffic Violations, along with Drug Possession charges when it was found that he was hiding suspected marijuana and prescription pills in a Christmas Tree that he was transporting in the rear seat of the Toyota Celica that he was driving at the time, Cpl. Simms was given permission by the operator to search his vehicle. While searching the vehicle the officer found several open beer cans and a prescription bottle containing 42 pills. Cheswold Police Cars – Now Marked
Date Posted: Tuesday, March 3rd, 2015The Town of Cheswold Police Department with the endorsement of Mayor and Council have marked the Town’s police units in order to show the visibility of this Town’s Police Force. The 2010 Ford Crown Victoria is currently on the streets patrolling and handling emergency calls. The 2012 Dodge is awaiting the installation of the radio, emergency lights and equipment which should be completed very shortly.

Vehicle Stop lead to Arrest for Possession of Pills
Date Posted: Tuesday, March 3rd, 2015On April 17, 2013 at approx 1845 hours Cpl. Louis Simms of the Cheswold Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a 1995 Jeep Wrangler, for traffic violation in the area of McKee Road. Cpl. Simms made contact with the operator, who was identified as Matthew Estep, a 43 yr old, WM from Middletown, DE. While speaking with Mr. Estep, Cpl. Simms noticed that he was very nervous. After speaking with Mr Estep he was advised by the suspect that he was carrying pain medication in the center console of the vehicle. Cpl. Simms retrieved a clear bag from the console containing sixty-five (65) pills that were identified as Vicodin and a Prescription bottle (which did not belong to the suspect) containing fifty (50) prescription pills identified as Soma, these pills were identified with the assistance of the Poison Control Center.
